The one thing I hear at every art show is “I wish I could do that. But I’m not creative.” This is usually followed by a list of excuses as to why he/she can’t possibly do it. Anyone can be creative, but it is a skill that needs to be worked on.
You are definitely creative. Every single one of us used to make things all the time. Finger paintings. Play doh sculptures. We wrote stories. Built things out of sticks. We were proud of these things. We would hang it up, give it to people, share it with our friends. It might have been what seems like forever ago, but you still have all of that in you, you just need to find it again.
The 7 Day Creativity Challenge is perfect for anyone who needs a creativity boost. Each day is broken up into one quick, 15 minute task. Each task might seem strange at first, but each one allows you to observe, think, take action, and get out of your comfort zone, which is what creativity is all about.
Creativity is not just about art, it’s everything. It helps us at work, by giving us the ability to find professional ways to get away from that insane/creepy customer. Creativity helps us cook interesting meals so we don’t have to eat the same damn thing every night. It helps us build beer bongs in college with scraps from our kitchen. What I’m saying is, it helps with life in general, in every aspect.
If you would like to try the free 7 Day Creativity Challenge, it's available for download right now. You will receive a .pdf file that you can print out and complete at your own pace.
We are all born with this thing, creativity. It might seem so out of reach now, but it’s not. You can “re-learn” the skill of creativity. It’s what separates us from the animals. We were given brains to make and create new things, to solve problems, and to communicate. Now, let's get started.
I'm Jackie, an artist, illustrator, and friend to ghosts, monsters, and aliens. This blog is full of DIY projects, stories, and things I think are cool. Stay weird.
